Where
were you born and raised?
I
was born in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. I was raised and still reside in
Denver, Colorado.
What was it that first got you into writing and when did you start writing?
My
interest in writing started at the age of eleven. I was very interested in
poetry and wrote a lot of it. By twelve I had a poetry book that I could have
published. But it was just a hobby. However, looking back I wish I still had
that poetry book, cause I could’ve publish it. Anyhow, English and Writing had
always been a favorite subject of mine. I was quiet and shy growing up, so
writing my thoughts on paper was easy and very relieving for me.
Which
writers have influenced you the most?
Maya Angelou, Zane, James Patterson, John
Grisham, Bob Proctor, and Stephen King.
What
kind of things do you write?
I write poetry, I write articles, short
stories. I like to be diverse with my writing, so I try to do it all. However,
in particular, I write a lot of self-help and drama/mystery stuff.
What
are you working on now?
I’m working on promoting my mystery/suspense
novel, Searchable Whereabouts, due to be released February 1, 2008.
And in addition, I squeeze in the time to work on my next novel.
What
is your writing day like?
Spontaneous. I do a lot of free-write. I try
to collect my thoughts, characters, etc., and go over them at the end of the
day.
What’s
the most exciting thing about writing for you?
Writing allows me to be creative, and I love
being creative, because with creativity you can do and create anything on
paper.
What’s
the most frustrating thing about writing for you?
I
have to make the time to write. People
who are not writers, don’t understand a writers life. And also the most
frustrating thing is when I get writers block, I hate that.
What’s the best piece of feedback that you’ve had from your audience?
Well,
from my poetry, I’ve been told that it’s diverse and enlightening.
Do
you write for a particular audience, or is your first priority to satisfy your
own creativity?
Honesty,
it really is to satisfy my own creativity. I’ve tried to write for a particular
audience, and I feel more forced. I only write for a particular audience when I
feel like it’s going in the same direction as my creativity.
Do you have a homepage? Do you have any short stories or poems published online?
