“The Stormcaller” is Tom
Lloyd’s debut novel, the first volume in “The Twilight Reign” series. Isak is a
“white-eye”, a genetic rarity that produces men that are more aggressive, and
yet more charismatic than their fellows. Isak’s charisma isn’t enough to stop
him from being despised and feared by all those around him, including his
father. It’s no wonder that he dreams of escape. Yet his dreams of joining the
army prove to be too mundane, for the gods have earmarked him as the successor
to Lord Bahl of the Fahlan, who is also a white-eye. Isak’s promotion angers
those that would-be-king, and violence threatens… Isak has to prove himself as
a worthy Krann. He needs all the help he can get, but that’s going to be hard
