“The Righteous Men” is the
debut novel of Sam
Bourne. It’s the story of Will Monroe, a “New York Times” journalist who
becomes intrigued when 3 shady characters are murdered: a young hacker in
India, a pimp in New York, and a far-right extremist in Seattle. The only thing
that links these victims is that they all previously performed an act of
goodness. Will delights in this riddle, as he believes that it will spark off
his career big time. But then Will’s wife is kidnapped. The kidnappers warn him
not to go to the police, as they communicate with him in cryptic messages. Will
is forced to call upon TC for help, a troublesome girlfriend that he hasn’t seen
for 5 years, who may be able to break their code... As Will and TC work
together to save his wife, they find themselves immersed in ancient mysticism
and biblical prophesies, and discover that the kidnappers may be motivated by
something far more than greed…
