“The Giro Playboy” is the title of Michael Smith’s debut
novel. A drifter wanders from London to Brighton, and then to Essex, consuming
lots of sweets, drinks, and cigarettes. Along the way he falls in love, and has
to be admitted to hospital. It’s been described as a novel or memoir in 8
parts, and features black and white line illustrations by the author himself.
