“The Colour of Law” is the title of Mark Gimenez’s debut
novel. Scott Fenney comes from a poor background, and used to be a college
football hero. However, now he’s a partner at a successful Dallas law firm.
Success has undoubtedly compromised Scott, and then a case comes along which
forces him to choose between his affluent lifestyle and doing what’s right.
Clark McCall, the disreputable son of Texas senator and presidential hopeful
Mack McCall, is found murdered, apparently by a black prostitute, after a night
of drug-induced wildness. Scott is assigned to defend the prostitute, Shawanda
Jones, and he’s a reluctant attorney. But then pressure is placed on him to not
defend Shawanda’s case too vigorously… To find out more about the author, you
