Susan Gregg interview, author of Dance of Power

Where were you born and raised?

I was born in NYC and moved to rural Vermont as a teenager.

What was it that first got you into writing and when did you start writing?

I have been a journal writer for years. I wrote my first book in 1989 and had my first book, Dance of Power published in 1992.

Which writers have influenced you the most?

I started with Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys one summer when all my friends except me went to summer camp. Once I got into reading I read all the classics and loved Dickens. My taste is very eclectic and ranges from Science Fiction to mysteries, self-help, spiritual etc

What kind of things do you write?

I write mainly books on being happy no matter what . . . self-help/spirituality

What are you working on now?

My latest book is part of the Complete Idiot’s Guides series – it is on Short Meditations. I have jut gotten a contract to write a book on Angels, Deities and Ascended Masters.

What is your writing day like?

I get up and write for a few hours, enjoy paradise for a few hours (I live in Hawaii) and then write most of the afternoon.

What’s the most exciting thing about writing for you?

I love it all. I love writing, I love starting a project and finishing one and all the stages in between.

What’s the most frustrating thing about writing for you?

Those days when my fingers hit all the wrong keys!

What’s the best piece of feedback that you’ve had from your audience?

I love it when someone writes and says my words have changed their lives.

Do you write for a particular audience, or is your first priority to satisfy your own creativity?

I write what I am passionate about and share that passion through my words.
