“Something in the Sea” is the
title of Yves Bonavero’s debut novel. Terence, a wealthy London lawyer, his
wife Cathy, a doctor, and their daughter Lucy, relax on Terence’s yacht in the
Mediterranean. However, when a storm suddenly comes out of nowhere, Terence has
to spend the night trying to save his family. They limp into Dubrovnik harbour,
but are unable to go ashore until daybreak. Meanwhile, Cathy tends Lucy’s
wounds, whilst a motor cruiser pulls up alongside them. Kurt, the motor
cruise’s skipper, also needs medical attention. As the hours of dark draw by,
Terence and Cathy are forced to listen to Kurt’s disturbing story… But it’s
