Simon Beckett is the author of

There’s Smoke” (1997), “Owning
Jacob” (1998), and “Written in Bone”.
Simon Beckett has an MA in Literature. He has previously worked as a
percussionist in a rock band, and as a teacher of English in Spain. He is
currently a freelance journalist, writing articles for national newspapers,
writing columns such as “Beckett’s
Books”. “Animals” won the Raymond Chandler Society’s Marlowe Award for Best
International Crime Novel.
