		<description>Indeed, on re-reading, and then reading a summary of Guy&#039;s life, one thinks this story needs the complement of the story of The Prodigal Son.  Otherwise, it is too dark--except for the brilliance of the writing itself.  So there is this splendor of truth in it, &quot;depressing&quot; as it is.</description>

Down deep the &quot;The Necklace&quot; is about the pure gift of grace.  Something &quot;beautiful in itself.&quot;  Or, if you will, &quot;something beautiful for God.&quot;  The writer has made a very humble offering; and the reader humbly accepts this magnificent little gift of--&quot;The Necklace.&quot;</description>
