Shin Kyung-suk was born in
Chongup, South Korea, in 1963. She studied creative writing at the Seoul
Institute of the Arts. She has written a number of novels: “Winter Fable”
(1991), “Where the Organ Lay” (1993), “Deep Sorrow” (1994), “Isolated Room”
(1995), “As Leaving Home Long Time Again” (1996), and “Strawberry Orchard”
(2000). Some of her writing has appeared on the Korean language website www.wisebook.com. Her 1999 novel, “The Train
Departs at Seven”, may be one of the novels published in Random House’s
“Deasan Korean Literature” series.
