Press Release):
Shane Dunphy has been involved in Social Care as a
practitioner, teacher and researcher since leaving school. He has worked,
variously, as a residential childcare worker, a community based
child-protection worker, a day-care worker with adults with learning disabilities,
a community arts worker with young members of the travelling community, an
early-years worker, and still practices as a consultant in these fields. Shane
is a regular contributor to television and radio, commenting mostly on issues
involving children at risk. He teaches Child Development and Social Studies at
Waterford College of Further Education in Ireland and is also knowledgeable
about the issues of social care facing the UK.
Shane Dunphy is the author of “Wednesday’s Child”
and “Last Ditch
House” (2007).
