Robert Lohr page

Robert Lohr was born in Berlin in 1973. He is the author of the novel “The Chess Machine. He is an award winning screenwriter, the writer of the following films: “Die Bundeswehrkomödie”, “Der Letzte Vorhang”, “Klassenfahrt - Geknutscht wird immer”, “Mitfahrer”, “Held der Gladiatoren”, “Frauen, die Prosecco trinken” (in which he also acted), “Zufällig lebendig”, “Der Rächer der Entwurzelten” (in which he also acted), and “Gottes Besuch”. He is also a puppeteer, which may well explain his fascination with Wolfgang von Kempelen’s Mechanical chess playing Turk. Robert Lohr didn’t begin writing till his mid-20s, but when he did, his stories immediately started to win prizes. The British publishers are very excited about “The Chess Machine”, and have compared it favourably with Patrick Suskind’s “Perfume”.
