“Relics” is the title of Pip Vaughan-Hughes’ debut novel. In 1235, Brother Petroc is a novice monk. His main concern in life is to avoid the temptations of the local women, so the last thing he expects to happen is the get caught up in the evil machinations of a Templar knight (Sir Hugh de Kervezey), who frames him for the theft of a invaluable relic and the murder of a church official. Petroc has no choice but to run. However, when Petroc’s best friend Will is murdered by the pursuing Templar, the novice monk becomes more determined to find justice for himself. Petroc has to place his trust in a mysterious relic hunter and Cathar sea captain, while he falls for a beautiful Greek princess… And why is Sir Hugh so determined to seize the corpse of one of St. Ursula’s eleven thousand virgin martyrs?
