“Relics” is the title of Pip
Vaughan-Hughes’ debut novel. In 1235, Brother Petroc is a novice monk. His main
concern in life is to avoid the temptations of the local women, so the last
thing he expects to happen is the get caught up in the evil machinations of a
Templar knight (Sir Hugh de Kervezey), who frames him for the theft of a
invaluable relic and the murder of a church official. Petroc has no choice but
to run. However, when Petroc’s best friend Will is murdered by the pursuing
Templar, the novice monk becomes more determined to find justice for himself.
Petroc has to place his trust in a mysterious relic hunter and Cathar sea
captain, while he falls for a beautiful Greek princess… And why is Sir Hugh so
determined to seize the corpse of one of St. Ursula’s eleven thousand
