“Please Mr. Einstein” is the title of a novel by Jean-Claude
Carriere. A contemporary young woman enters a peculiar waiting room. Peculiar,
because all the people waiting there, including a certain Isaac Newton, are
there to see Albert Einstein. Charmed by the young woman, Einstein discussses
his theories, about space and time, the theory of relativity, Nazi Germany, the
consequences of his work (i.e. nuclear weapons), while Newton tries to trip him
up. The publishers say that this novel makes physics and philosophy appealing
