Owen King is the author of “We’re All
In This Together” (“Der Wahre Praesident Von Amerika” is the German title).
He is the son of the novelists Stephen King and Tabitha King, the youngest of
their 3 children. Owen King grew up in Bangor, Maine. In the 1980s, Hasbro
produced a series of toys called “G. I. Joe: An American Hero”, and the one
called “Sneak Peek”
was apparently named after Owen King (it was also referred to as “Owen S.
King”). He studied at Vassar College from 1995 to 1999, and was awarded an MFA
in Fiction by Columbia University in 2002. His stories have been published in
“The Bellingham Review”, “The Boston Globe”, “Topic Magazine”, and “Book
Magazine”. Owen King’s first published piece was a poem in his high school
literary magazine. He’s won the John Gardner Award for Short Fiction, and has
been nominated for a National Magazine Award (for a short story called
“Wonders”). Owen King’s fiancé is the novelist Kelly Braffet, and
they live together in a deconsecrated church in Brooklyn. He is currently
working on a screenplay about a basketball murder mystery.
