Naomi
Chapman interview, author of
The Digby
Lake Killer and Wallet of
Death.
Fostoria, Ohio
What was it that first got you into writing and when did
you start writing?
I'm not
sure. I remember writing when I was in
the sixth grade. I was asked what I
wanted to do when I grew up and I said I wanted to write.
I'm not
influenced by any writers.
I write
thrillers. I describe what I write as
slasher stories. They are violent, but
not too gory.
I'm working
on a new thriller, and I'm working on writing a screenplay.
I write when I'm at work and a lot when I'm
driving. I try to write at least 1,000
words a day. When I don't work I usually don't write because I spend that time
with my son.
Writing
itself is exciting. I also like getting
out meeting people at book signings and promoting my books.
There's
nothing really frustrating about writing.
What’s the best piece of feedback that you’ve had from
your audience?
All feedback
is good, but I can't think of any right off.
Do you write for a particular audience, or is your first
priority to satisfy your own creativity?
I write to
satisfy my own creativity, but what I write is mostly for adults because of the
violence.
Do you have a homepage? Do you have any short stories or
poems published online? (If so, please provide the URLs):
