Aga Akbar, a deaf mute boy from Persia, develops his own script from a strange cuneiform carving found in a cave on a holy mountain. Through his writing, Akbar tries to make sense of the changes that the 20^th Century has brought to his country. A generation later, Akbar’s son has been forced to flee his country, leaving his family behind.
