Biography (from publishers Canongate): Michel Faber is
the author of six books, including the international bestseller The
Crimson Petal and the White and the Whitbread-shortlisted novel, Under the
Skin, both of which have been published all over the world. He has also won several short-story awards,
including the Neil Gunn, Ian St. James and Macallan. Some Rain
Must Fall, his debut collection, won the Saltire First Book of the Year
Award in 1999. Born in Holland, brought
up in Australia, he now lives in the Scottish Highlands. Michel Faber is also
the author of
The 199
Steps, The
Fahrenheit Twins, The
Courage Consort and The Apple, a
collection of short stories featuring the characters from The Crimson Petal
and The White.
