Liz Kettle is the author of “Broken Biscuits”,
a novel (2006, ISBN:
0670916277). The novel has been described by the
publishers as: “A moving, blackly comic novel about generations, insanity
and finding love in unlikely places.
Agnes is
senile; her granddaughter Jodie is an oddball. But how did each of them
get that way? In a hurtling plot that moves between Jodie’s life going
forwards and Agnes’s life going backwards, we enter the dark, hilarious
world of the mad. Funny, grim yet ultimately uplifting, this is a dark
story of family secrets and history, and a seaside love story of two outsiders
who find love in a hostile world.”
Liz Kettle
was born in southwest London, where she grew up. She moved to South Yorkshire
in 1990. She has worked as a freelance writer for over 20 years. Liz Kettle
first started writing short stories 6 years ago. She graduated with distinction
from the MA in Writing at Sheffield Hallam University (where one of her fellow
students was Marina Lewycka).
