Lindsay Charman-Love is a New Zealand
writer who has written poetry for over 30 years, and started writing short
stories in the mid-1990s. It did not take him long to taste success with his
short stories: in 1999, he came
first in The Huia Short Story Awards, and he was also a finalist in 1997 and
2001. Also in 2001, his collection of short stories – “Top Hat and
Taiaha and Other Stories” – was published. Lindsay has also written a play
– “Karanga i te Po” (“A Cry in the Night”). Huia Publishers are due to publish
his next collection of short stories, called “Land Rights for Gay Whales”. Lindsay currently works as a curator at
Te Tai Tokerau.
