Biography (from publishers Bloomsbury): Khaled
Hosseini was born in Kabul in Afghanistan in 1965. He is the oldest of five children and his family received
political asylum in the USA in 1980. He lives in California, where he qualified
as a doctor and practiced as a GP for ten years, with his wife Roya and their
two children Haris and Farah. He is the
author of The Kite
Runner and A Thousand Splendid
Suns.
