Jeffery
S. Miller interview, author of Higgins: An
American Story, The Ballad of
J.D. Higgins, The Devil's Caravan, A Bad Day for Dentistry,
Clay Allison Goes to Dodge City, One Night in Juarez, and The
Witch of Goldfield.
I
was born and raised in Conway, Arkansas.
What
was it that first got you into writing and when did you start writing?
I fell
into it accidentally. I used to have my own business and I would write
reports for Congressional leaders and other businesses. On my downtime, I
discovered I liked writing fiction.
H.P.
Lovecraft, Robert Anton Wilson, and Robert Bloch.
I write
a little bit of everything. I write Christian stories, horror, western,
conspiracy lit, comedic portrayals, historical fiction, etc. It depends
on my mood.
I'm currently
taking a break and my creativity is pouring into my dreams. I need to write a
story soon.
I write
whenever the inspiration comes upon me. I find it similar to the calling of the
Holy Ghost. You never can tell when it may come or if it will ever return.
I like
to see my work in print. That's the goal. I want people to read
what I have to say and for them to say they enjoyed the respected piece.
The fake
reviewers on Amazon.com
and other outlets. People should actually read the story before they
leave a review.
What's the best piece of feedback that you've had from
your audience?
The
Devil's Caravan
has been hailed as my best work thus far.
Do you write for a particular audience, or is your
first priority to satisfy your own creativity?
I
write for whoever. I don't limit myself by saying only certain people will
like my style. I write for the person who can clearly think for
themselves.
Do
you have a homepage? Do you have any short stories or poems published online?
