Jeff Povey is a British TV
scriptwriter. Amongst the shows he has written for are: “Wire in the Blood”,
“Casualty”, “Holby City”, “Grange Hill”, and, what is touchingly described on
his American literary agent’s webpage as “The Eastenders”. He was one of six
finalists for the 2001/2002 Orange FilmFour Prize for Short Film. His entry,
which he directed as well, was called “Blowing It”. It starred Paul Kaye as a
man who has an affair with an inflatable sex doll. However, as Jeff Povey has
said in an interview, “I originally wanted to be a great novelist”. Well, now
it looks as though he’s got his chance, as he has a novel out called “The Serial
Killers Club”, which is published by Warner Books. It is also apparently in
development as a feature film, which may allow Jeff Povey to fulfil another one
of his ambitions, which is to write and direct a full-length movie. Another
novel, called “Broken in Hoboken”, is also in development.
