Even the Crows Say Krakow James HopkinJames Hopkin is the author of “Winter Under Water” (hardback 2007 - paperback edition 2008), and a collection of short stories entitled "Even the Crows say Krakow" (June 2008). James Hopkin has written book reviews for “The Guardian” and “The Times”. For the year 2004/2005, James Hopkin received a grant from the Arts Council to assist him with the writing of “Winter Under Water” and a collection of short stories. James Hopkin’s story “Even the Crows Say Krakow” was included in “New Writing 13”, where he was mentioned in the introduction by Toby Litt and Ali Smith.  James Hopkin's next novel, "Say Goodbye to Breakfast", is due to be published in January 2009.  In a review of “Winter Under Water”, M. J. Hyland (Booker shortlisted for Carry Me Down), wrote: “Sentence by sentence, image by image, there are few contemporary writers who understand words the way Hopkin does. In fact, I can think of no other. If you care about fine writing, read Winter Under Water”.
