Jai Clare is an excellent, prolific author, whose stories have been
published in a wide variety of journals, including "Agni",
"Storyville", "In Posse Review", "Pindeldyboz",
"QWF", "Barcelona Review", "Paumanok Review",
"Literary Potpourri", "Gator Springs Gazette", "The
Pedestal Magazine", "Three Lobed Burning Eye", "Smokelong
Quarterly", "The London Magazine", "Night Train",
"Winedark Sea", "Odyssey", "Redsin",and
"Absinthe Literary Review". She was a "Zoetrope All-Story
Extra" guest editor for the December/January 2000/2001 issue. Her work has
also featured in the anthology "Foreign Affairs: Erotic Travel Tales"
and the "Nine Muses Anthology". Jai Clare was commended in the short
story category of the Writers Inc Writers of the Year Competition 2005 with
"Balloons". In addition to this, Jai's novel, "The
Storyhouse", was longlisted for the 2005 Yeovil Literary Prize. Also in
2005, Jai Clare's story "Bone on Bone" was one of 10 stories
shortlisted for StorySouth's Million Writers Award. She is currently
working on a PhD at the University of Gloucestershire, and she has recently
become poetry editor for "Bonfire" and "Gator Springs
Gazette". Jai Clare’s debut story collection, The Cusp of
Something, was published by Elastic Press in 2007. Jai Clare lives in
Cornwall.
