Helen Slavin is the author of “The Extra
Large Medium or Unfinished Business”, which won Susan Hill’s competition to
find a novel that she could publish through her own company, Long Barn Books.
Prior to this, Helen Slavin’s success as a writer had been restricted to
writing TV scripts, for series such as “EastEnders”, “Boon”, “The House of
Eliott”, “Heartbeat”, and “Holby City”. Helen Slavin also wrote a great deal of
“Down to Earth”. In addition, Helen wrote the script for the short film “The
Fishmonger’s Daughter” (1998), which went on to win the Gold Award for Best
Independent Short Film at the Houston International Film Festival, and the
Audience Choice Award for Best Short Film at Stoney Brook, Long Island, New
York. Helen Slavin lives in Trowbridge with her family.
