Biography (from the publishers): Helen
Dunmore was inspired to write the Ingo series by life on the Cornish coast. She
spends much of her time writing in her house in Cornwall and so it seemed
natural that she should set her stories there. Helen says "It is an area
where there is more sea than land and where seals, dolphins, basking sharks,
storms, sunfish, gulls and mackerel are as much
part of the
children's lives as cars and houses. It is a beautiful place and one which I
love."
