"Gideon
the Cutpurse" is the first book in the Gideon Trilogy by Linda
Buckley-Archer. Two 12-year-old kids, Peter Schock and Kate Dyer, get a shock
when they are transported back in time to the 18th century by an anti-gravity
machine developed by Kate's father (who is working with NASA to investigate
'dark energy'). Naturally enough, a massive police search for the 2 children
starts in the 21st century, while in the 18th century, a criminal named
"The Tar Man", steals the anti-gravity machine, and disappears,
leaving Peter and Kate stranded... They need help to track the Tar Man down, so
they turn to Gideon, a reformed cutpurse. Gideon agrees to help these 'ghosts'
from the future, but will he be able to assist them before his past catches up
with him? To find out more about the author, you must visit our Linda
