Ed Trewavas is the author of “Shawnie”. He was
born and brought up in Bristol. Ed Trewavas has had a variety of careers
(always useful for an author), such as office worker, technical author, van
driver, a sports journalist, but has spent most time in the world of social
work. Ed Trewavas’s writing reflects his Bristolian roots. “Shawnie” is his
debut novel, published by the Tindal Street Press.
Authortrek reader Svejk writes: “I know Ed, and many is the
evening I have spent over a pint hearing him recount the genuine tales of woe
that are his bread and butter, and those of the people he works with in Knowle.
In committing "Shawnie" to print he has tried to make sense of the
tragic, yet sometimes heartwarming stories that are his working life.
"Shawnie" is a triumph of modern, gritty fiction, shaped by the grim reality of Blair's Britain.”
