Derek Landy is the author of "Skulduggery Pleasant"
(HarperCollins 2007) and Skulduggery
Pleasant: Playing with Fire (2008). "The Sunday
Times" has reported that he was signed by the publishers for over £1m. At
the time of the deal in March 2006, Derek Landy was 31. He plans to write 7 or
8 books in the series, which has been described as "comic fantasy".
He first rose to prominence as the screenwriter of 2 films: "Dead Bodies"
(2003), and "Boy Eats
Girl" (2005), which starred Samantha Mumba. Derek Landy comes from
Lusk in Dublin.
