David Tucholski was born in
1978 and grew up in rural Virginia, just west of Washington, DC. As a boy he
explored the serene country surroundings of his parent’s home. The creeks,
unmarked roads, acres of trees, and rolling hills called to his curiosity and
fueled his imagination. One of his favorite places then was an old railroad
bridge where he and his younger brother would go in the summers and imagine
they were running from steaming locomotives as they barreled over its aging
trusses. They would spend hours at this place and others like it, and
eventually these surroundings and experiences would influence David to write
his debut novel, “The Good I Stand
On”, which was released in November of 2005. David’s style of writing
attempts to stay true to the locations, cultures, and people that inspire it.
Although the events are fictional, the characters and settings are often very
real.
