My name is Donna Scaglione author D'Maria Scaglione. I was born in West Babylon New York on July 4, 1952 - I was brought up in North Babylon New York and also Titusville Florida. I consider Titusville, Florida, my hometown.

What was it that first got you into writing and when did you start writing?

It started with drawing as a young child. I used to make up my own comic books. Plus, I loved words and read constantly as a child. My passion started at the age of six.

Which writers have influenced you the most?

Jack London, Hemmingway, Shakespeare.  Books as: Heidi, Catcher in the Rye, Alas Babylon, The World According to Garp, Comic Books (heros) - Walt Disney Productions. So many more to think of or name.

What kind of things do you write?

I write stories of hope, love and overcoming life's obstacles. Most are children's books, yet I also write poetry, Fantasy and play with other genres as a hobby.

What are you working on now?

I just finished a sensual, psychological thriller. It's a novella.

What is your writing day like?

I write something every day. I can put in as little as 15 minutes (rarely) to five hours. Depends on health and what else one needs to do.

What’s the most exciting thing about writing for you?

EVERYTHING. It's passion, fun, creative - I enjoy the characters and learning - also love meeting other authors.

What’s the most frustrating thing about writing for you?

Knowing who the good agents and publishers are. Who to trust. It is fun... but a tough business.

What’s the best piece of feedback that you’ve had from your audience?

That my work was admired... the five star ratings and for all to say "Keep Writing"! What a rush!

Do you write for a particular audience, or is your first priority to satisfy your own creativity?

I love writing for kids and those who have lost hope or feel sad. I want people to use the best of their potential. We all have gifts to offer the world.  Of course, I love to create! My imagination is endless too!
