Carys Davies came 2nd
in the 2005 Asham Award with her excellent short story “Hwang”.
She has also made the shortlist for the 2005 Historical Short Fiction Prize
with “The Visitors”, and came 2nd in the 2002 Orange/”Harpers &
Queen” short story competition. Another of her short stories, “Historia
Calamitarum Mearum”, was published in “The London Magazine” in 2004. Carys
Davies has also had pieces published in the US by “GW Review”, “Press”, “New
Letters”, the “MacGuffin”, and “Kestrel”. She is married with four children and
lives in Lancaster. Carys Davies’
debut collection of short stories, Some New
Ambush, is due to be published on October 1st 2007.
