Delany. Despite being a successful novelist, Elaine Benson is broke and most
decidedly single. She travels to Lake Muskoka to interview for the job of assisting
the elderly Miss Moira Madison write her memoirs. Miss Madison is particularly
interested in leaving a record of her time with the Canadian Army Nursing
Sisters, particularly the times she spent in the European theatre of war in
World War II. Elaine enjoys researching Miss Madison’s dusty old records, but
then she discovers that the first writer hired oddly drowned in the lake… To
