“Bang Crunch” is the title of Neil Smith’s debut collection
of short stories. Knopf Canada, an imprint of Random House of Canada, will
publish “Bang Crunch” in January 2007 within its New Face of Fiction program (www.newfaceoffiction.com). The book
will also be released in the United States by Vintage and in the United Kingdom
by Weidenfeld & Nicolson. Neil Smith has been nominated several times for
Canada’s prestigious Journey Prize with “Green Fluorescent Protein” in 2002,
“Isolettes” in 2004, and “Scrapbook”
in 2005, stories which are due to appear in the collection. The title story
“Bang Crunch” won 1st prize in the 2004 Eden Mills Writers’ Festival
