Once you have registered, and have logged in, you will be transferred to the dashboard. From here, you can start posting your story right away by clicking on the “Add New” link in the “Posts” section on the left hand side:

You’ll see, in the above example, that we have already inserted a title. Next, you can cut and paste your story into the “Post” box (you can cut and paste directly from Microsoft Word or whatever word processing programme you are using):
You’ll see that in the above example, I have pasted in some text directly from Microsoft Word. Once you have pasted in your text, you can save your work thus far by clicking on the “Save” button on the right hand side. You may then notice some differences to the formatting of your text. You’ll see that the text in the first line has gotten smaller, and also that the font has changed. These format changes are automatic, and are designed to ensure that all stories on the site look consistent. Some formatting from your original story will survive, such as bold/italics/underlining and hyperlinks.
After you’ve made a significant change to your story, always remember to click the “Save” button on the right hand side:
Don’t be alarmed if the “Post” box suddenly shows your story in html code -
Once you have registered, and have logged in, you will be transferred to the dashboard. From here, you can start posting your story right away by clicking on the “Write a New Post” button on the right hand side:
- this is just a temporary transition stage in the saving of your story.
Once you’re happy with the way the story looks in your “Post” box, and you have saved the story, you can check how your story will look on the site by clicking the “Preview this Post” button at the top right hand side:
This will open up a new window in your internet browser.
Once you are satisfied with how your news story looks, you can post it by clicking the “Publish” button on the right hand side:
You can then view your news story by clicking on the Author Success Stories home page. You can also visit the Author Success Stories homepage by click “Visit Site” at the top of the dashboard (remember to save your story before doing this if you have not already done so):
This will exit you from the dashboard. If you want to edit your short story further, click the ‘edit’ link below your story – this will then take you back to the dashboard.
