Annie Kirby won the 2005 Asham Award with her excellent short story “The Wing”. Prior to this, she had a short story called “Orchard, Cherry Blossom” broadcast on Radio 4 as part of their “Ones to Watch” season. She’s also had a short story published in an anthology called “Bracket: a new generation in fiction” (“Revelations of Divine Love”). Born in 1971, Annie Kirby currently lives in Dorset. She has a distinguished academic career: a BA in American Studies from the University of Wales, Swansea, where she has also done a PhD in Native American Film. Annie Kirby is also a graduate of the famous Creative Writing MA from UEA.
