Aaron Jennings interview

This interview with Aaron Jennings, author of Chasing Dreams, was first published in March 2009.

Where were you born and raised?

Ascot, Berkshire but during the past ten years I’ve lived in India, Australia and New Zealand before finally settling in Brighton.

What was it that first got you into writing and when did you start writing?

I started writing when I was living in New Zealand; I found it a way to artistically express my thoughts.

Which writers have influenced you the most?

There are far too many to mention, I try to read a diverse range of authors and borrow from lots of different styles.

What kind of things do you write?

Novels and non-fiction articles.

What are you working on now?

A couple of novels.

What is your writing day like?

Squeezing time in during commuting to London and the occasional evening.

What’s the most exciting thing about writing for you?

I find it therapeutic, a chance to explore my ideas and thoughts.

What’s the most frustrating thing about writing for you?

There’s always something more important to do.

What’s the best piece of feedback that you’ve had from your audience?

I was stoked when somebody commented on Chasing Dreams and told me that the penultimate chapter would split the overall opinion of the reader. Exactly what I intended.

Do you write for a particular audience, or is your first priority to satisfy your own creativity?

For likeminded souls into travel and with an open mind.

Do you have a homepage? Do you have any short stories or poems published online?

(If so, please provide the URLs): I don’t have a website, but the full cover of Chasing Dreams can be seen on http://www.flickr.com/photos/pedrokid/3015570555/in/set-72157613050732123/  and everybody’s welcome to join my facebook group at http://www.facebook.com/home.php?ref=home#/group.php?gid=44254797071
